I've entered my WAP key on my admin page of the router and when the laptop logged in it asked for the key and i put it in there to.

Like i say i've had this working for well over 2 weeks now with wap key installed everything.

do you mean wep or wpa key i was talking about in capital letters. try changing the ssid to your first name.

And another thing that it could be is that there are some adapters that are set to try and connect automatically to availible networks.

Mine is set to connect automatically for sure.

Yeah sorry i mean WPA. My password is in caps is that a problem?

No it is meant to be in caps but if you can find a way to disable the auto connect that could resolve the problem.
