      HTC Media Link HD

I have just upgraded my phone to the HTC One X and as part of the upgrade i got the HTC Media Link HD unit. This allows me to share media / my phone screen onto my TV.

The way it is meant to work is by connecting to the home network on both the phone and the media link device.

I have not been able to get this to work, looking at the HTC support pages it states
Connect your phone to a Wi-Fi router that does not block IP multicasting.
This is the part i don't understand, looking on the internet it would appear that the sky router wont do IP Multicasting (what ever that is).

Does any one if i can get IP Multicasting on a sky router. My router is the black segam one.

      Thanks

Sharing files from my laptop or phone for streaming to other devices is normally performed using the 'DLNA' system. This actually uses UPnP and a few other technologies.

To the best of my knowledge all the Sky routers work with DLNA services provided that UPnP is enabled.

      Thanks for the reply.

I had an OTA update to my phone today and i thought i'd try again and it now works fine, looks like a software issue on the phone.

      Nice one.

Sometimes I wish that the manufacturers would send a text message to all the relevant handsets to let them know when an update is due. I found out that ICS was available when I plugged my Samsung into my Laptop.
