      Apache website on LAN

      Hi

I have configured an Apache web server on my desktop so I can develop websites. This works fine. My issue is that I would like to access the new website on a different machine located somewhere else on my LAN. Both machines are connected to my Sagem F@ST2504n router. Both machines are in a WORKGROUP

I can ping the web server from my second machine but when I NSLOOKUP, I get an error message:

      "SkyRouter.Home can't find http://<ip address>: Non-existent domain"

Is there something I can do on the router such as port forwarding? or do I need to ask this same question in the Apache forums?

Ok. I have sussed it. I have discovered how to to port forwarding now and I have opened up my firewall to except traffic from this port from with in my network.

      Re: Apache website on LAN

From the error messsage, it sounds like you were using nslookup incorrectly.

      Instead of
      Code:
      nslookup http://www.example.com
      simply use
      Code:
      nslookup www.example.com
