      WNDR3800 firmware upgrade (for info)

Not sure if anyone else is using this router. I got it for the Readyshare & it worked fine until I upgraded to the latest firmware. Now copying files to a NTFS readyshare drive corrupts it. Disconnecting the USB drive & attaching it to the PC, copying the file and re-attaching it to the router works.
I have raised a ticket with Netgear. Doesn't say a lot for their testing procedures though!

With the problems Scubbie has also experienced with her router, I would think twice about buying any of Netgears latest products.

lol Tom. I've not had any issues with saving files to the drive previously. This is a new issue.

I would agree that Netgear's testing process isn't what it should be. There are too many small bugs being seen in the field with either full release firmwares or beta firmwares.

Testing on the latest beta firmware seems to be good, but there is an issue with some of the GUI displays now. I spotted this within a few minutes of installing the update.

Re: WNDR3800 firmware upgrade (for info)

I'm more than happy with the router. 5g works great. My son in NZ can pick up the family videos & pics easily as can the rest of the family. No down time, crashes, resets or anything else since I got it. This is the first & only issue although it is fairly major. I would have thought testing the validity of files written to a readyshare drive would have been fundamental. Especially when one of the fixes was to speed up the writing of said files!
