      I shouldn't imagine that it's much different from any other TI-AR7 router, such as the Sky DG934G. Is there any particular reason for wanting to use it?

      Well obtaining a replacement Sky router to replace my failing Netgear seems to be more hassle than its worth. I've got 2 of the ZyXELs in use at the office and on standard Adsl they've been rock solid with fantastic wireless range.

      There's no real reason why it shouldn't work just fine on Sky. But it would be a good idea if your router is failing, to get a new one from Sky. Sky's terms and conditions insist on you using the router they supplied to you. It doesn't appear to be the case that they're enforcing that rule right now, but they have the potential to do so in the future.

      I've been trying to get a replacement for 3 weeks but its like an episode of 'Little Britain' - "The computer says no..."

      On the 26th of Jan I reported a fault, request fell on death ears.
      On the 28th of Jan I again reported a fault, promised a call back as per usual never got one.
      On the 31st of Jan I again reported a fault and asked what was happening but got nothing positive in response.
      Same evening I made a 2nd call and was promised a replacement within 5 days.
      I called again tonight the 11th Feb only to be told my router order had been cancelled.
      I was asked by some asian chap to call again tomorrow for an answer as to whats happening.

      I'm on the verge of giving up.

      It would be taking the "pee" if Sky were to introduce a clampdown on people using their own routers when they show that level of incompetence in dispatching equipment to their customers. And once they've finally put an order in, they then take 5 working days or more to actually get it to you - by a 24-hour courier. What on earth are they doing in the 4 other working days?

      If my mobile phone breaks down, my phone company will courier a replacement phone to me, either the next day if I reported the fault early enough in the day, or the day after if not. Why can't Sky achieve this level of service?

      I say use the Zyxel, but give Sky Customer Service one more go. If you still can't get a router of them, call BSkyB on 020 7705 3000 and ask for Customer Relations. In my experience, they're pretty good - they phone you back when they say they will, they give you a follow-up call to check that your problem has been resolved. Fantastic. But you do have to be able to show that you've tried your best with Customer Service before they'll take your case on, otherwise they'll just transfer your call to them anyway. But from what you've described, I think you'd have good cause to ask them to sort it out.

      Theres a high pitched buzzing noise from within, makes a great kid repellant but also affects us adults too lol.
