Hi Guys,

I've been reading the forums for a long while trying to resolve my problem and have tried most of things suggested on this site but still no luck in increasing my speeds. I am stuck on getting approx 960kbps download and 416kbps upload. I was previously with Nildram (Who I never had any problems with) but as with most of you decided to go with sky due to the price. I am subscribed to the Max product and have been since Jan. Originally I was able to connect at approx 1500kbps but now dont even get to 1000kbps. Also I keep getting disconnected and have to keep on rebooting the router which is my own Netgear - exact same model but did not want to use skys provided one as I had mine already configured (found out how to do this from this forum LOL). I have 2 machines connected and know I can get higher speeds as I have seen them in the Netgear connection status but never seem to get them now. Ok am babbling and will give the info u guys need. Am connected directly to the modem via ethernet, have a extension to the only BT socket (does not have a master socket when I open it up) Also tried to get rid of the ringer wire but could not see which one it was - supposed to be 3 but that was empty although the socket has a lot more cables. Ok I have tried both routers connected directly to the only BT socket and get connected but nowhere near what I should be. I have checked my status of my exchange and it is rought 2.4k away according to one of the sites. I am on the Skyport exchange and my post code is TW4 7QE. At the moment I have to sometimes reboot to even get a connection and some times it just drops out whilst surfing and then I have to reboot and it still does not pick up a valid ip and then I have to reboot over and over again. When it does finally pick up a valid ip my speeds are as stated before. I have run the netgear utility and here are my stats. Please, please, please can someone tell me where I am going wrong, or is the max I can recieve or have I been capped. Thanks in advance. Oh also I have used approx 3 different filters and have a filter in the main socket and then at the end of the extension cable - should I have a filter at the end of every extension cable even if it only comes from one main socket which alread has a filter ?
