      Sky Mid upstream speed

I have the Mid package (8 Mb/s download). When my line was first activated my router stats showed me that the modem was synching at 7996 kbps down,
766 kbps up. Around a couple of weeks later the upstream sync speed dropped (and has stayed so ever since). My stats now show:

Connection Speed 8190 kbps 396 kbps
Line Attenuation 22.0 db 10.9 db
Noise Margin 15.2 db 23.5 db

So what upstream speed are others on the Sky Mid package getting? I'm pretty sure my line is capable of faster, so I guess it's being capped to 396 kb/s at the exchange.

      Re: Sky Mid upstream speed

      Hi there,

I have the same issue, I have a download speed of 8128 kbps, upload speed of 448 kbps with Line Attenuation up/16.0 db down/9.0 db
Noise Margin up/9.7 db down/24.0 db.

Is there any way to increase one's upload speed? Really hacks me off, you see, where I live I can't get Sky's Min/Mid/Max package, only Connect. I don't download alot, but I upload a bucketload, and that, unfortunately, is what takes forever... and at 17.99 a month I am sorely tempted to change providers.

      Any advice, techies?

No - you can't do anything to increase the upload speed on Connect. That's the speed it does.

You can however contact Sky and ask to be put on the 5 Sky Connect tariff (see other thread).

Best I can get is 416 kbps but I've read elsewhere that 416 is the limit for the mid package , anyone know if that's true ?

      DownStream Connection Speed 5376 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 6.9 db 13.0 db

      Connect UP 416kbps
      Line Attenuation DOWN 39.0db & UP 24.5db
