Re: Surely I should be getting faster than this???

Its the all to familiar 8mbps capping that seems to be happening more and more, I fell victim to this myself upon switching to Sky.

With your stats you should get close on 16mbps and I'd love to know why SKy CS keep mis-quoting a lines capability. It's almost as though they are deliberately capping lines to preserve capacity at the exchanges.

Re: Surely I should be getting faster than this???

Did you manage to get it un-capped with Sky?

My ticket was raised at 2pm on Monday so they are running out of time to contact me or do anything about it. Rest assured I shall be on the phone on Monday asking why they failed to meet their response SLA.

Like I said though the worst thing about this was when I phoned up to raise a ticket the CS guy told me I could only get 2mbps and I should 'downgrade my package to save money' lol.

I can see my exchange from my window and was on 8mbps when I was on MaxDSL - work that one out...!

Re: Surely I should be getting faster than this???

Yes but it was a long and teadious process taking around 7 days in total. Call CS on the 0800 number and ask to be put through to Tier3 CS. If they won't just state that you've had no reply from Tier3 in 5 days, I've found usually they will then push the call through to them, but you can end up waiting ages in a queue.

When you get through to Tier3 (if you do) just politely ask them to uncap your line from 8mbps, if necessary quoting your line stats.

Re: Surely I should be getting faster than this???

5 days is up today and surprise surprise no phone call. I did however receive the following text message from Sky BB

"Great news, your Sky Broadband is now live. Enjoy"

I've only be live for almost a month now. Better late than never I guess..!

Anyway first thing tomorrow morning I shall be on the phone and hopefully will get a resolution.
