Re: My max speed or just capped
Thanks Saturday...
I mean i'm pretty happy with the speed, just hoping for more... greedy i know!
The master socket is actually an old installation of BT Home Highway. When the connection went live last week, i tried plugging the router into the front of the socket... no connection. As soon as i plugged it into the test socket it fired up, but like you've seen, hasnt ever synchronised above 1856, hence the purchase of the XTE-2005 (btw great service from the guys at ADSL Nation!).
Hey, at least the connection is stable!
Beyond what i've done so far is there much more that can be done?
Thanks again...

Re: My max speed or just capped
The XTE-2005 should sort out any local noise issues which can be sorted out.
One thing to try would be to disconnect every other phone device, digibox etc and see if this makes a difference. If it does you have a faulty device and by adding them back in one at a time can see which one. If you do have a faulty device plugging it into a microfilter may just help. No signal at the master socket before you fitted the XTE-2005 certainly suggests there's a problem.
Otherwise, consider disconnecting the ring wire at the master socket. Again, this shouldn't be necessary with the XTE-2005 but some people report improvements.
In the end though, your attenuation makes any slight noise problems much bigger so you may be at your speed limit.
