      Thank you for the reply. I have contacted Sky and they promised to check the line through Tier 3. They said it may take 2 to 5 days!

      Re: worth badgering sky for more speed, base on these stats?

      @ cazzbar

      I had problems with web pages not loading, phoned sky they put this down to errors on the line, the router is on a extention in the living room, master socket in hallway(no mains power in hallway for router)explained this to teir 3 guy and he said this may be the problem so he asked me temp set up the router in the hallway on a mains extention lead, remove the face of master socket and then plug the router into the test socket, browse the net and he would call me back in 45 mins after checking my line,he phoned me back and said that i am still getting errors on the line, didnt say how bad they were, this is when he decided he would cap my line.

      @ Saturday

      Thanks again for your advice, i will phone sky next week and when i eventually get in contact with teir 3 i will ask them to uncap me,i take it they will uncap me after capping me,as at the moment the speeds i get is not very good i use Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed at various times of the day and the highest i have ever got is 3145 kbps i assume it should be higher than this, i will let you guys know the result. Thanks

      These are the latest stats after Sky did something. Certainly better than 5089 I was getting before.

      Re: worth badgering sky for more speed, base on these stats?

      Hi Guys
      I eventually phoned sky today and asked them to uncap my line, they told me my line will only support upto 12mb,so as not to cause any problems they will cap my line at 8mb and to try this, they will monitor my line for any problems,if this works ok i have to phone back up and they will put it up to 12mb.Here are my latest stats after being capped at 8mb for approx 6 hours, everthing seems to be working ok. Can you guys please let me know how they look and if its likely i wiil be able to move up to the 12mb.Many Thanks.

      Re: worth badgering sky for more speed, base on these stats?

      Well, as you can see, your line is generating errors. In my opinion your CRC errors are just below the threshold where problems begin. Your other errors are also on the high side and in particular you have a lot of uncorrected errors.

      You're on G.DMT. I'm not sure being uncapped and moved onto ADSL2+ would be a good idea unless you address the root problem of what is causing these errors in the first place.

      Thanks for your reply to my stats, the last stats i posted were capped at 8mb on a extension socket, which could explain the errors,i have now connected the router into the test socket via the filter and here are the stats, can you tell me how these look please. Many Thanks.

      Absolutely error free - zero. (Don't worry about the unavailable seconds. That's just the time your router was negotiating).

      They'll never change us. God help those who try.

      Re: worth badgering sky for more speed, base on these stats?

      @bristol boy - You're welcome.

      With those stats at the test socket, you could expect very similar with a filtered faceplate and the router connected directly to it.

      Though your errors will probably increase if/when you move to ADSL2+ I doubt that will be an issue.
