OK - those router stats clearly show that it is synced on G.DMT mode.

Though there is still some uncertainty about what this means (see this thread for some thoughts) what is for sure is that you are not on ADSL2+ and so are capped to a maximum of ~9000kbps which is significantly below what your line (attenuation) is potentially capable of (~11000kbps).

Also, in case they try and bamboozle you, from the (admittedly short) timespan your router was up there are no errors being generated on your line.

had this ticking over in my mind for a few days, and i think a good idea would be for anyone who has contacted sky about this (i know there are some cattered threads as such), to post what happened. I'll statt a new thread for anyone to add to, and further details. Thread title 'Anyone capped and phoned sky, please post here'

don't worry, I'm also waiting for others to go first and report back as well

looks like 50/50 at the moment for people with our attenuation doesn't it... some are getting stable 11Mb connections and others are dying and having to be set back. not sure if I'm that keen to hang on the phone for an hour for the privilege of talking to a snotty tier 3 lol

Yes. You don't appear capped but your connection speed is very low for your attenuation.

You have a very high number of errors on your line which points to a serious noise problem.

Please post your stats connected to the test socket which you'll find behind the faceplate of your master socket (assuming you have an NTE5). Leave the connection running for an hour or more if possible so I can see what errors are building up. Hopefully we then can find a way to fix this for you.

Frankly I'm surprised Sky haven't capped you. They seem to have for others with far better figures than yours.

      Hi again

I can't seem to find the master socket anywhere. The BT line enters the premises into a small square white plastic box by the window. I remember when the BT line was replaced the contractor was having trouble finding it too, so he cut this grey wire (looks like a 2-wire line.. encased in a thick grey plastic insulation material.. wish I could explain it better!) and connected it to the small box.

All I could do was to disconnect all the phones and extensions. This left the hard wired extension going upstairs.

      The result is as follows:

Right. I've put the router back in its original place in the bedroom. I've changed the phone cable going into the router along with the filter. The results are now as follows:
