Re: ADSL2+ or not ?
That's pretty reasonable for your attenuation.
If you try your test socket you may see a boost of up to ~5000kbps. If you do then consider fitting a replacement faceplate.

Re: ADSL2+ or not ?
No offence nobby
The post is about members who should be on the Max package ie: ADSL2+ or not ? as you are clearly on the Mid package the problems in this thread don't affect you so I am moving this to a forum that will get you some help.
Please when replying to any post try to keep to the topic
ThanksRay

Re: Thought i would get a faster speed than this at 2.61km from exchange
No - even if you had a noise free line (not really possible), with your attenuation you would not see much above 5000kbps whether on ADSL1, 2 or 2+.
That means whatever ADSL mode you ended up on (it's not that black and white that Mid=ADSLx and Max+ADSLy) your downstream speed would be limited by the attenuation not the package (Mid v Max). You would however probably see a rise in your upstream connection to ~750kbps if you moved to Max.
