Is This Adsl or Adsl 2 ?
First off thanks a lot for looking and sorry about asking the same question most have .
Well these are my speeds
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 33.0 db 20.5 db
Noise Margin 10.7 db 14.0 db
Been on max about a week or so now , and and did have top speed of about 6300kbps , but after plugging into the master socket you see the speeds I have now
This leads me to believe Ive not been put on Adsl 2 ?
I would like to add that I could not be more happy with the speed I got , as I had 1mb before this , but would like to know why (if they have) they done this
Thx
Wagsie
Oh I forgot to add I'm no more than 1000 yards away from my exchangeLast edited by Wagsie; 09-01-07 at 11:50 PM.

Re: Is This Adsl or Adsl 2 ?
Welcome to the forum
With your attenuation you certainly have the potential for a higher speed on Max.
If you've looked through the forum you'll have seen there are several possible reasons for why your router might be connecting at an unexpectedly low speed, including that Sky have capped you in some way. Your figures suggest this is a possibility.
The only way to be sure is to phone them and ask. Pre-arm yourself with information such as the mode your router is reporting, the difference a connection to the test socket makes etc.
All the info on how to do this is easily available on the forum.
