That "416" upload? Wasnt that a common CAPPING issue?

      Re: Check my stats please?

OK, here's the deal - I have no test socket. My 'Master' junction box looks like this:

... from there BT installed an extension with a simple box on the end for the phone.

I cannot test because I have no test socket, but what I have done is tried the router wired directly into into the extension. This gave me dl speed of 1511 kbps which is an improvement but could suggest the original junction box is just old and knackered.

I'll ask BT if there is any chance of upgrading. Question: am I looking at asking for an NTE5 box installed by BT and then adding the NTE-2005 faceplate myself?

Then, from the first junction into the house I have a 20-25 ft gap to my PC. I can relocate the router at a half way point and use a wireless card/dongle, but I still have a 10-15 ft run to the router. Should I be looking for a certain cable for the best results?

At an attenuation of 63.5db you have a potential maximum router downstream connection speed of a little over 2000kbps. This would equate to a download speedtest result of ~1700kbps.

Undoubtedly your wiring is at least a significant contributor to your low speeds.

You could ask BT to fit a new NTE5. If it is a result of a complaint from you of noisy voice calls it will probably be free - otherwise it will cost a minimum of 65. They can also fit a BT filtered faceplate at the same time (especially if you're generous with the tea and biscuits )

Otherwise you could fit your own NTE5 wired into the junction box.

In terms of cable, why not fit/get fitted the new NTE5 closer to the PC?
