      Statistics - meaning ??

      Hi:

      I have been recently connected by Sky and following are my statistics. Can someone advice as to what they mean in terms of what download speed I am getting?

      Downstream - 7296 kbps
      UpStream - 416 kbps
      Noise Margin(Downstream) - 5.4 db
      Noise Margin(Upstream) - 14.0 db
      Line Attenuation(Downstream) - 47.0 db
      Line Attentuation(Upstream) - 30.0 db

      The downstream and upstream figures are what your router is connected at. The actual download and upload speeds you will get will be something around 85% of these.

      Your noise margin is too low and you need to fix this as you must be experiencing connection issues. Read this for further info.
