      Figures from a Novice

      Guys

      Would welcome your advise on the stat figures from the SKY Max Package I am on:

      Connection Speed
      7616 kbps
      768 kbps

      Line Attenuation
      42.0 db
      26.5 db

      Noise Margin
      6.9 db
      13.0 db


      Are these good? I do have issues when the router falls to 1 Mbps and I have to re-boot especially in the evening.

      They aren't too bad but I suspect you could improve them a little.

      Start by reading this for a bit of background. It will also give you clues to the evening disconnection problem you're having and a suggested fix.

      I am getting a bit fed up of my Router Speed falling to 1mbps each evening.

      Re-booting several times seems to be the only way to cure it - are SKY working on a fix for all this?

      You need to "lock" your router to a higher noise margin figure. To do this, simply reboot every time the margin drops below about 6.5db and continue to do this until it stops dropping - then leave your router connected and powered up.
