On the max package but on get 2.5mbps

      Hello

I wonder if anyone can help, I am currently on the max package but I can only get speeds of 2.5. I have had the sky service for nearly two weeks. Here are my stats

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2581 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 59.0 db 37.0 db
Noise Margin 6.0 db 10.0 db

Any advice on what I should do. I would appreciate any help you can give

      Thanks
      Simon

Your connection speed is determined first by the line attenuation then by the noise level. Your attenuation is high (you have a long line) and the highest speed you are ever likely to get is ~3000kbps - not a lot more than you already have.

On a secondary point, your noise margin is very low and with anything under about 6.2db you are likely to see slow downs and possible disconnects.

Read here for a bit more info.
