Poor speed
Hi had sky for a month now and have started getting speeds rangeing from 3meg down to 448 kbps.
Here is my stats can any one tell me if they are good or poor pls
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 448 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 63.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 15.0 db 14.0 db

They're poor I'm afraid.
With an attenuation of 63 you might get as much as 3meg but only if your noise margin was at the limit (~6db).
With a line like yours your router will always sync at the highest speed it can with a noise margin of 6.9.
Noise changes through the day - normally being at its worst between 6 and 10 in the evening. Looking at your current noise margin (current at the time of measuring), I suspect you last booted your router when noise was at its worst and it has now recovered.
The best you can hope for is to improve the filtering (in effect noise suppression) on your line to reduce the big noise margin swing you're experiencing and look for a typical connection speed around 2 meg.

Hi thanx for your reply. Might have to give sky a ring, never had this problem with wanadoo had a conection of 2.5 meg with them.
