Speeds not great on connect package
Hi, its great to have a resource like this available and I've already followed a few threads for the last few days before finally deciding to post.
I know very little about BB so bear with me please.
My router states my downstream connection is 8096 and upstream 448
I generally seem to download at about 45 KB/s which I'm guessing is pretty poor. This is ftping.
Using Utorrent my max speeds on well seeded torrents are abou 8 KB/s. I often can't connect to utorrent at all, getting an error stating I cannot accept incoming connections, other times I get a green low for a good connection but speeds are still pants.
I'm 1.24 kilometres from my exchange.
Any suggestions about what else I can try?
I have used the TCP tool to amend my settings and saw a slight improvement...

Your connection speed is right for Connect so that's good.
Are you still within your 10 day training period (i.e. were you connected less than 10 days ago)? If so the it could take a little while before max speeds are achievable on your connection.
You need to ensure that you have the right ports open on your router for utorrent to perform well. See here:

Utorrent ports are now correct but speeds are still dodgy. I'm still scoring on speedtests at about a 2 meg line when it should in theory be closer to 8...

If you know your user name from the sky router (if not go to tech forum)
you can go here http://test.speedtester.bt.com/ enter your phone number click go after what seems like an age another page will load asking for your username, enter your username click next or whatever it is and it will tell you the speed that BT's systems are letting your connection run at, think it is called IP speed.
