Hi Thanks for your help. I used the TCP optimiser last night and did the other tweaks to the router as suggested. This seems to have made a huge difference but as it has been consistently slow for two weeks I need to monitor it before being conviced. I experienced very slow ( 128K ) downloads which rose slightly after midnight to around 500 ish. However despite the increase in speed downloading from usenext is still slow.
      Regards
      Dave

Several connect users have been complaining of slowdowns at peak times, I am not sure that any resolution has been found, If your downloads etc are fine outside of peaktimes then it may be contention (to many users) on your exchange. You can report this to sky as an issue and in the long term more caoacity may be added to the exchange improving things, but on connect it is down to BT as it is there equipment providing the service.

dholdi, what are you using for testing speed at peak time? The websites are always way off the mark at night. Try monitoring your speed downloading from the ftp server in the sticky at the top of this section. Or try a Microsoft download.

      Hiya,

      Damm flippin right i am!!

I got told just over 2 weeks ago that i'd get a call back within 5 days. Definatly 5 days!

I also got told that i'd be able to try and ring them, best time 1-3pm. But apparently thats not allowed anymore!

Seems as though Sky can't make up their mind.. 1 week call backs are off and you have to wait and now you can't wait and have to have a call back.

Apparently, they stopped the waiting as it was sometimes over an hour!

have you suggested that you should be compensated for the lack of service, i've just fired them an email to that effect pointing out that if it is not sorted out soon i will be cancelling my contract and will not be paying any charges as they have not delivered their side of the contract, i will also be cancelling my skytv as the only reason i took this was to enable the bb
no reply as yet and i'm not holding my breath

That sounds like an interesting plan!

When i signed up i got them to cover the 40 fee.

Its just a little sad that things have to take so long, along with false expectations.
