Speed ok on Max?
Hi,
I've not been on Max to long but the conn. speeds I have are excatly the same as when I was on the Eclipse Evo1 (adsl MAX) product.
I did a speedtest a minute ago and got
http://www.speedtest.net/result/51327003.png
Fastest line speed so far has been 3.9 meg
Stats taken from router earlier
Conn. Speed 3548 kbps up / 764 kbps down
Line attn. 51.0 db / 33.6 db
Noise Margin 8.6 db / 11.5 db
I 'think' the attn. is supposedly be able to allow me upto 8meg, conn speed has never gone above high 3's (sometimes low 4's) though.
Using iMac not PC and connected via Ethernet, Wireless totally disabled, connected to Master socket, using Micro-filter and only other thing on socket is a telephone.
It's the same speed's without the phone. No more socket's off the master socket and reconnecting doesn't help.
Think that cover's most the usual stuff tech support throw at me.

For longish lines you will find that the sky adsl (max package) gives very similar speeds to max adsl product. You will only better those speeds if you can sync higher than 8 MB which in your case you cannot.

Ah well,
It's a stable 3+ meg so at least that's an upgrade from the MAXadsl I had, plus it's cheaper :-)

I've been speedtesting a few times a day for the last couple of weeks. As soon as I reconnect I get around 10.5 MB speeds. This usually lasts for a few hours after I stop using the connection. After 24 hours it almost grinds to a halt. When it works fast it's great, but it's a pain in the R's to have to reboot when I need something quick.
