Well good news, I'm now running at 4.5Mb

But here's why - I didn't know, but apparently the phones in my house hadn't been working properly for the past couple of days (I live at my university see), you could call out no problem, but incoming calls would ring once then cut out.

After some investigating, I discovered that the cable running to my Sky digibox was faulty. Replaced that and bam, phones working properly and broadband speeds up to 4.5Mb

Result. Now just to wait and see if it picks up any more over the coming week. Updated stats for my connection below:

      I'm cautiously optimistic....

Just done the daily re-set my router, and done a speed check. Hey presto I have over 5Mbps connection speed and a download speed using the FTP link on this thread of over 500k/sec!

Looks like those who say "stay with it", Sky will come good in the end are right

I hope this problem gets sorted for all of you, like it seems to have been for me.

You could get a much faster speed if you're on the Max package. Phoning Sky and asking them to reduce your noise margin could increase your speed, or you could find the URL injection SNR tweak method and do it yourself.

If you're on the Mid/connect package then those speeds are fine.

Thought it was too good to be true, after a day of brilliant connection speeds, things have now gone backwards.

I'm back to 0.7Mbps pretty much all of the time - even after a router re-set. Funny how my line speed was 'sorted' on the day I was due to cancel my contract, now my 8 days has passed I'm back to square one!

Obviously Sky can do it, it's just that they are so bloody inconsistant. I'll give them a couple more days then I'm back onto Tech Support.

      ARRRGHHHHHHH
