      Sky speeds - help!

      Ive just had sky put on yesterday 20/07/2010 - but it runs slow, this is my router stats below.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 4094 kbps 605 kbps
      Line Attenuation 54.5 db 30.9 db
      Noise Margin 7.4 db 16.0 db

      ive heard something about DLM? Im new to all this - checked my sky online no test are running...any help would be great?

      It will tell you about DLM in the welcome letter, it runs for around 10 days but with your current stats you won't get much more.

      You're speed will be based on a number of factors such as line quality, how old the copper is in you're house and whether or not you're using the test socket.

      Also one of the biggest factors is how far you are from you're Exchange.


      If you want faster speeds then cable is the way to go but of course you have to be in a cable area.


      Upload Will Be Upgraded In Q3 to Around 5 Mb - 10 Mb.

      Speed Wil Be Upgraded in Q4 2010 / Q1 2011 to 100 Mb DL and 10 - 20 Mb Upload.
