Connection is low and lags when playing consoles online, HELP!

Hello everyone! My famly and I have just recently joined sky a few weeks ago. Hoping we would have better connection results than BT, when I play pro evolution soccer online for example it lags like hell! So I came on this forum and saw something called speed test. I have just carried it out and here are my results



Can anyone help? Am I being capped? From what I have seen my download speed is far lower than everyone elses I have seen, obviously I know there are various packages and various speeds but my one seems to be a joke!

Hi there, many thanks for your reply. What stats do you mean? Sorry im pretty new to this. No my playstatiion 3 is wired to the router, im all out of ideas. Plus watching youtube videos are a joke sometimes, it buffers or pauses, bloody annoying!

Firstly, your connection is capped and you should be getting around 4mb, a call to Sky should get this sorted, hpoefully that will cure your problem.

If you are using wireless, you would be better trying a wire as wireless is not great for gamers, you could try switching the channel the router is on to see if that helps, start at 13 and work your way down until you find the best one.

Yes they are there 24/7. When you ring them, also ask for your max delays to be reduced to 8, this should reduce your pin time, just tell them you are a gamer.

Log into the router again and gp to the wireless settings, you shoulg see the channel number you are using there, just change it to 13, this is uaually the best one to use as not many people try it.

damn just read this after I got off the phone to them! but your a genius and you were right! they said it should be around 3 1/2 to 4 meg, so they said it will come into effect within 48 hours! Result! Im definately going to ring them in the morning with regards to the max delays, does that make a difference if they are reduced? Ok brilliant, ill try that as well! Your welcome, glad it was an easy one.

Just keep an eye on your stats, you should see the speed increase and the noise margin decrease to around 7db, that will indicate you have the most out of your line.
