Post your full stats and a description of how your router is connected to the telephone line and what else is on the line with it (anything connected to it anywhere in the house).

In addition to posting your router stats from your normal position can you additionally connect your router directly into the master test socket and take and post stats from there

And remember - it is UP TO 20Mbps, it's not guaranteed

You have 2 threads running now, can you tell us how the router is connected to the line, is anything else (Sky tv box etc) on the line too, how many filters etc?

Re: Download speed shocking any help ?

The service is just BS. If they can't provide data down my phone at the same rate regardless of time or day. They shouldn't bother. FFS I'm getting better BB speeds using a freaking mobile phone dongle. I mean, would you buy a car if it's top speed went down to 20 mph after 6? Probably not. I'm connected straight into the main phone line. Not the master socket, paying them the to provide me internet through BT who were never this cack. BT support try and BS you a bit. Sky seem to have a few chimps on the phones. I mean, the one who I spoke to only seemed to be able to say yes. The next one I got, when I demanded the organ grinder was a bit better. Not much tough. His advice was move and get Virgin after reading between the lines. Even when throttled it IS a fair bit quicker.

You have no idea of what exchange you are on and you have the cheek to accuse others of being chimps?
If you look through the forum you will find plenty of information on the Connect package and how bad it is.
I refer you to this thread in particular -

I had to change user profile. I'm not sure on the exchange as I have an 0191 dialling code. My mate around the corner has a different dialling code. It's either Durham, Newcastle or Sunderland for my local phone exchange. I will refer to anyone as a chimp when using the monkey and organ grinder spiel as referring to someone with poor english as a monkey can be racist, depending upon ethnicity and is not a very nice thing to do. I'm sure we can all agree on that.
I don't care where they were born/grew up, but when your job is communicating with customers in English, successfully conversing in English helps. That's why I don't work as a translator for French/German people. I can get by in them languages well enough. Just not perfectly.
Most of my mates who came to England for various reasons have a real good grasp of the language. Yeah, better than me. I admit it.
My main gripe is when I was a BT customer I had a good, stable connection that didn't vary in speed a great deal. I only changed to Sky for the broadband when I took up the offer for a SkyHD system last October. Still waiting on the HD box though. From what I've seen though, they can keep it. I might reconsider when it is full HD, but that is a different rant altogether. It turns out that I'm still a BT broadband customer though. Paying for the same broadband through a third party this time. The only thing that has changed is the router. Which works better than the HomeHub ever did, during so-called off peak hours. So the the performance difference makes no sense at all. Rant over people. I have vacacted the soapbox. Next!
