Broadband speed/connection
I am really pleased to have found this forum and hope to get some real help out of this....on April 6th I got HD and 20mb broadband. HD engineer coming tomorrow as keep getting error message 25 - no signal....anyhow...its broadband i am very worried about.
I simply cannot watch YouTube, Iplayer etc via laptop or PS3 over wireless co nnection . Even the short football manager interviews on a saturday evening do not run properly. Talking at work they tell me its all about the speed.....
using speedtest net last 2 evenings around 10.30pm and it shows me download speeds at 1mb or under ! live in Hertford on new estate only 20 miles north of tower bridge so should get a reasonable connection ?
Rang Sky they changed router channel to AUTO - still no improvement....not called them back....any ideas, questions, support greatly appreciated....

Can you post your routers statistic please, how to do so is in my signature below this post.

If sky did change the router's channel TO auto, then if anything, that'd cause more issues. Take it off auto and onto 06 or 13 for instance. Also post the stats as suggested.

sky changed my router FROM auto to another channel (?) to be clear.

The speed has been capped it seems. How long have you been with sky?
If it has been more than 10 days or thereabouts, then plug into your test socket (link below)* and call up sky again. Tell them you have a slow connection and eventually the speed will be uncapped and all sorted.
How to test your ADSL in the Master Socket
* Before you call up sky, post the stats from the test socket also to make sure all is well internal wiring-wise.

Update for all - SKY were choking it to 2mb or below - impossible to work with. Got a very good chap on phone from tech team and it is all sorted now at about 4mb...watched a whole 1hr concert the other night with no buffering at all - superb....you have to speak to SKY to get it sorted....thanks all for your inputs....
