    Is this Right ?

    This is a discussion on Is this Right ? within the Speed tests and how to get better results forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I thought Sky BB was limited to 20Mb ?...

      I thought Sky BB was limited to 20Mb ?

      Nevermind.... must be an issue with Speedtest.net

      Line Attenuation 13.5 db 6.9 db
      Noise Margin 6.5 db 9.5 db

      Many will not believe it, but Speedtest.net is about the worst speedtester you will find. Your results prove it.

      In saying that your stats show that you are syncing a bit lower than you should, with a bit of luck you could see very near the full 20 Mb. Plug into you Test socket and post your stats from there.

      We'll it's now day 3 of 10 and here's my new stats... still no drop outs or bad packets

      Connection Speed 19006 kbps 1150 kbps
      Line Attenuation 13.0 db 3.1 db
      Noise Margin 7.8 db 8.7 db

      Wow that's a very nice speed you've got there, Looks like your not going to need to call sky at all. Keep the router plugged in for the next 6 or 7 days and you'll be perfectly fine. Although there is the odd occasion your ping times might be a little high so if that's the case you might want to give sky one quick ring and ask them to set speeds to 8ms so web pages load up nice a quick.
