      Poor dload speeds

I was with another company before being with SKY

and the dload speeds were greater than what they are now..

the account has been active now 4 days

      results

      Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8176 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.0 db 22.6 db
Noise Margin 8.2 db 11.5 db

although ive read the tutorials I just cant get my head around the noise and db factors..
what can i do to increase?
the connection is direct to the test socket

      2nd tier changed settings to

      Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8507 kbps 852 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.0 db 22.6 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 8.5 db

apparently im 2km away from the exchange

      Re: Poor dload speeds

To be honest I would just be happy with your download speed, I know that I am now that im receiving my correct speeds (5mb) for a 51db line attenuation.

He probably called O2 and asked them to increase his upload speed, To be honest I wouldn't mind for my upload speed to be a little faster, currently get 768kbps which is not bad really.

That my download and upload speed.

You're essentially being given what was sold to you? The speed you're on is about right for your attenuation. If it's a download issue, and not downstream sync issue, then do you connect wirelessly or via ethernet cable?
