Progressively worsening speeds
Hi there,
I've been with Sky BB for about 2 years now. Initially I was getting around 4-5Mb, but this has progressively dropped to 1Mb now.
I couldn't quite remember which package I was on (paying around £10 rather than £5), but the BT performance test failed which I suppose rules out Sky Connect.
Here are my stats (with my router plugged into the main socket to my PC via ethernet):
Code:ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 1024 kbps 764 kbps Line Attenuation 50.0 db 30.4 db Noise Margin 29.8 db 10.0 db
I played around with TCPOptimizer with no luck, still at 1Mb.
Is this likely to be a problem at Sky's end rather than mine? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Progressively worsening speeds
You're heavily capped at the moment. Why is another question. Were you previously in an extension socket, running any extension cables, have any unfiltered sockets or generally any internal wiring issues? Or have you always been connected to the master socket with no extension cables to the router?
Either way, if you call up sky then they can uncap the speed for you. 08442410515 is the number.

Re: Progressively worsening speeds
Thanks for the advice, I'll give them a call as soon as I can.
I have a splitter on my main socket with an extension going upstairs where the router usually resides.
