      Re: Poor Speed

Speedtest.net is not to be trusted. It sometimes gives rubbish speed results, this may be the case where you got 15Mb. It is also possible that your socket is dodgy. The fact that you were not getting dial tone seems to indicate that there are problems with the socket connection.

The stats that you posted indicate that there is no possibility of getting 15Mb, but if they were taken when the connection was not being properly made, that could account for the poor result. Can you take your stats again, making sure that the plug for the filter is pushed firmly into the socket. Post the results.

If you want to do a speedtest, use this one, it is far more consistent that the one you are using.

      Re: Poor Speed

It is my ADSL box that is dodgy (the thing that came with sky)
I think it is a loose wire,
I waited until there was a dial tone on my phone to test (just making sure it was plugged in correctly and not disconnected) so I will need to buy a new box I think.

      results from that page:

      Download Speed (Kbps) 3528 Kbps
      Upload Speed (Kbps) 565 Kbps

      Re: Poor Speed

The router has little to do with the phone, if you are not getting a dial tone with the filter and get one without it, it is just possible the filter is faulty. Try another filter and post your stats.
