      Another day one performance issue

Just switched from BT Broadband to Sky MAx/unlimited DSL2+, I was promised 10-20mb. I am getting 3.5mb. I was getting close to 6mb with BT with just vanilla DSL.

      Router Stats are

      Connection speed down:4093kbps UP:604kbps
line att: Down: 18db UP 6db
      Noise : Down: 31db IP 16db

I know this is day one, but surely I should be seeing better speed than I am, that 4093kbps is closer to 3.5mb in reality. I know I have to wait for the installation to settle down, but, It should be AT LEAST better than my BT offering.

      Any help would be appreciated
(is that stats Noisy, or not I am never sure what constitutes bad)

Might want to look for the bit where it says about "DLM".

Re: Another day one performance issue

What the others are hinting at is that DLM will run on the line for 10 days from the start to get the fastest stble speed your line can take, it can take 72hrs before it starts to do this.

With your stats, you should get 20mb by the end of it and should see a big jump in a few days.

Yeah, I get your point I was a bit previous with that post, and yes I should have read the welcome letter. Just a bit over zealous.

As it happens my speed has just been uprated to 16000kbps. Sweet!

Was that DLM or you calling ahead of time and getting them to break the rules and turn DLM off before it's finished?
