      upgraded to Unlimited

I upgraded the other night to unlimited not so much for faster speeds but for unlimited aspect. If i can get faster speeds then all the better.

I done a few tests last night and wondering if you guys can check the results as you seem to know your stuff when it comes to these reading as its just numbers to me.

      Readings are as followed:

      master socket:

      stem Up Time 00:40:32
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 11335 25611 0 511 14412 00:39:45
      LAN 10M/100M 3391 2418 0 1392 203 00:40:29
      WLAN 11M/54M 24053 12853 0 13194 517 00:40:21

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6144 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 26.8 db
Noise Margin 10.9 db 17.0 db

      test socket:

      stem Up Time 00:05:04
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 2128 2718 0 1370 11322 00:04:06
      LAN 10M/100M 2909 2029 0 9317 1442 00:05:01
      WLAN 11M/54M 1325 2038 0 1524 659 00:04:53

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6144 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 46.0 db 26.8 db
Noise Margin 14.2 db 18.5 db

Both are very similar in readings just noise margins have changed by looks of it. Any feedback would be much appreciated

      Cheers

      Duncan

      Re: upgraded to Unlimited

the fact the SNR goes up in the test socket shows a noise issue with your internal wiring. get a filtered faceplate and run the router from there and you'll be good, probably get at least another 1-2Mbps...

      Re: upgraded to Unlimited

Hi im new to skyuser and im in need of some serious help..

i was on sky basic free broadband, i final got sick of its stupid slow speeds and small download limits so decided to upgrade to sky unlimited mainly for the download, i checked my line to see what speeds it was capable of and it states just as sky said i can only get a max speed of 5mb download which i was more then happy to have compared to they half 336kb i was on. they told me that i had to wait 10 days for the change to be done well that was well over 3 weeks ago and its still going the same speed i have phoned them so many times asking them why no change but dont seem to be getting anywhere does anyone have any ideas for me or could lend me a hand when i next come to phone sky and have ago thanks
