Sorry for another 'Look at my results' question.
Hi guys
Sorry to post the millionth speed test results on here, but I wondered if anyone wouldn't mind checking my stats and telling me if they're okay. Been with Sky for about a month now and keep getting kicked off xbox live or cant get a connection, and the internet has always been very slow. Recently, I've disconnected the White/Orange cable from socket 3 (Sorry, I dont know the jargon) after some great advice on here and have sorted out all of the filters (if you read another post, I was having problems with 3 different phone lines in the house...)
So, here it goes
Results on 'Normal' Master Socket
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 50.0 db 27.8 db
Noise Margin 12.4 db 10.0 db
Results on 'Test' Master Socket
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 49.5 db 27.8 db
Noise Margin 12.8 db 10.5 db
Results on 'Extension' with Master Socket
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 50.0 db 27.9 db
Noise Margin 13.1 db 10.5 db
I included the extension socket test, as I may need to use this to plug in the xbox as I'm using the wireless bridge at the moment.
These are the results from a hard wired Speed Test
We're on the top B/Band package but I believe from reading up the best we can hope for is a 4Mb limit. Its so frustrating though as I can never play online with the xbox or PS3.
Can anyone advise? Do I need to contact Sky regarding this and possibly get a cap lifted (or speak to I believe 'Tier 3' - I've done my homework!!)
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate all the advice I've gotten from this site so far.
Chris

Re: Sorry for another 'Look at my results' question.
By the noise margin you still have some speed in hand, phone sky and get CST to increase the speed some more.
Also how long have you been with sky.

Re: Sorry for another 'Look at my results' question.
Thank you Andy, my house mate (who pays for the Sky) is in tomorrow so we'll do it then.
He signed up for the full package in September, and we had the broadband installed early October! Speeds have been dreadful, but I think a lot is because we keep the router in the wrong place, all use wireless, and all download and stream a lot, but I always get the feeling we should be getting more. What speeds do you think are reasonable for us to achieve?! bearing in mind I play online a lot and will ask them to take this into account.

Re: Sorry for another 'Look at my results' question.
On a good line, which from the noise margin shows it could be you should see around 6 to 7Mb if the line is good.
Best time to phone is after 10pm to get through the fastest and ask to get put through to CST if they will not, a trick that alot use is that they want their max delays lowered and therefore put your through.
Hope this helps.

Re: Sorry for another 'Look at my results' question.
Thanks Again Andy.
Dont mean to sound lazy, but which number do I call? Is it general enquiries then ask to speak with the customer services team?
