my bt master socket in my neighbours house
my bt master socket is in my neighbours house, can any one advise me weather i should get it moved to my house and what is the best way to do this and will it or can it cause slow internet speed??

p.s. i think its a shared master socket!

But if true I would insist that BT move it, what is to stop your neighbour connecting up to it and running up your phone bill if they were that way inclined!

The only time this would happen would be a house which is installed and then the owner decides to split the property for letting. If it's a proper house then there is no way this should be true or you would both have the same telephone number.
More likely is that you don't have a master socket at all on your line and your neighbour has one on their line.

possibly your house has the old square master socket without the removable cover and test socket and your neighbour has the new type the first socket that any external cable enters the house to is your master socket any other sockets are extentions
