      Re: sky everyday speed problem

You are on G.DMT and the stats show you are getting the fastest speed the line can take and the CRC's spiked on a few 15 min intervals. Are you in the test socket behind the master socket, link below with details.
Other than that you will not get anymore and you are on the correct mode.
You should also ask sky to increase your upstream speed to 600Kbps.

No, you are at the limit of the line, any more speed and you will lose stability.

Only soloution is either cable or move.

I don't know how the others have missed it but this shows your internal wiring is causing problems. Fit and use a filtered faceplate and your speed will almost double.

We wanted to give you a chance Isitme

But he may be right, were the previous stats from the test socket, if so then a filtered faceplate should sort it, or if you can keep it connected directly to the test socket that will do it also.

Going to go and kick myself now!!!!

      Re: sky everyday speed problem

That is a huge improvement in the stats in the test socket, your wiring is causing alot of problems you really need to buy a filtered faceplate then sky will be able to increase your speed greatly. Try adsl nation for the faceplate.

This is the important figure, if you can leave the router in the Test socket, phone Sky now and ask them to reconfigure your line as you have made improvements to your wiring. If you can't leave it in the Test socket and my suggestion in the next para does not work, leave it till you get the filter faceplate fitted.
Depending on what type of filter you are using you may find that you can plug your faceplate into the phone side of it and all your extensions should work properly. You might want to try this as a temporary measure till you get hold of a filtered plate.

      Re: sky everyday speed problem

Isitme is correct, do as he says, he has pulled this one out of the hat for you.

You should easily double the speed if not more.

Use the test socket until the filtered faceplate comes and ring Sky now and explain that you have repaired your line and can they now manually configure it for you.
