      I would say 'no'. For that attenuation you should get 6-7mb, which you are:

      SkyUser - Potential ADSL2 Line Speed Checker & Calculator

      YOu could try the test socket under the ,aster socket faceplate (see my sig) to see if that helps.

      Re: Newbie with stats question

      I tried the sky user one last night and again this morning giving me these results;
      time of test down up
      12 September, 2009 08:27:52 3856 Kbps 386 Kbps
      12 September, 2009 08:24:12 3728 Kbps 383 Kbps
      12 September, 2009 00:05:37 3776 Kbps 381 Kbps

      these results are considerbly slower than any others where I get high 5 or low 6, Just tried with that speed.io you have in your sig;

      I have a freind who runs a web server, I tend to check my speed by doing a direct download from his server and seeing what the rate is, and that matches the high 5 low 6 results.

      Are you sure you did not have some other downloading going on, P2P, torrents? The Sky User test is not normally as inaccurate as that.

      Re: Newbie with stats question

      That is equivelent to a download speed of about 3680 kbps. Which is very close to the SkyUser reading.

      Try a speedtest connected via ethernet, in fact turn off wireless on your router when you do this.
