Im moving, what can i expect from the new house?

      Hi Guys.

im moving soon and am currently on Sky unlimited.

Im currently 1.02Km from the exchange and with an auttention of 32 get around 12.5 to 13 meg connection.

the new house is with sky and although cannot get any stats on the line it is approx 1.56km from the exchange.

Any ideas what kind of speed i would get a the new place? the checker on this site say 16-24mb if i out that distance from the exchange which i find hard to believe.

There is no way to tell without stats.

It all depends on the line lenght and quality, neither of which any website can tell you.

As a ball park you can double the estimated direct line length to estimate the true lenght but even then it is a guess and it could be longer or shorter than this.

If you read this part of the checker you will see that it gives an estimate on the distance being the line length. This is never the case, as Smithy says it is usually about double the distance. It is really impossible to say without testing the actual line.

Due to the fact that your Telephone Line does not run in a straight line from the Exchange, the Distance from Exchange figures, are interpreted as if your Telephone Line is that exact length. In reality, you will find it highly unlikely that this is the case.
