You mention lag on Call of Duty, is that using a console? If so, have you put the console into the DMZ on the router or opened the ports up that COD requires? I have been able to play on a PS3 with 5mb download and 700kb upload without a problem (4 green bars on connection screen). Problems only occur when the host has a crap connection and/or is based in the states.

If you are playing it on a PC then I aren't sure how much use any of the above will be :-)

The main thing with gaming is to use a wire, not wireless and to make sure that there is nobody else using the connection at the same time.

Hmm, maybe it is the wireless signal that is causing the issue? Is the router quite a way from the ps3 and does the signal have to travel through the floor and walls? Also are we talking an old house with proper walls or a new house with plasterboard?

If you are gaming with wireless with either the PC/PS3 or Xobx that will cause lag.

Ditch the wireless and use either a cable or a couple of homeplugs, wireless just won't do for a good gaming experience.
