      SkyMax (Unlimited?)

OK. Been on Sky Max for ages. But now my bills says Sky BB Unlimited.

Funny thing is all my speeds etc are still the same.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14332 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 16 db
Noise Margin 7 db 6 db

Are these good and could i get better speeds. I have improved my wiring and sockets since the line was originally set up. Could the line be capped at 14000?

Isnt Sky Unlimited 20000kbps and 1300kbps
      Thanks

Sky Unlimited's new speeds are just for those with very short and good lines., you seem to be getting the best you can, so for you it is just a name change When they apply DLM to your line you may even lose a little speed if it has what Sky think are a lot of errors, we will all just have to wait and see

      Re: SkyMax (Unlimited?)

Always thought i should get better speeds. The line from house to pole was new when i got it put in 1yr ago. Im less than 1km from the exchange. The Router is plugged into the Master socket and their are no extensions.

Here's to hoping they get this all done for existing customers who are already paying them money soon!

      Re: SkyMax (Unlimited?)

As thunderbob is not syncing anywhere near the maximum and has the default noise margin, he is very unlikely to get any more download speed. His upload margin is very low so he might not even see an improvement there. He should be checking his wiring to see if there is any more to be gained.

      Re: SkyMax (Unlimited?)

Hmmm. Been fiddling with cables. Is this any better?

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14332 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 29 db 15 db
Noise Margin 7 db 15 db

The Upstream Noise Margin seems to have gone from 6db to 15db.......

      Re: SkyMax (Unlimited?)

That is much better, you now have the potential to get well over 1 Mb upload. Unfortunately your download is unchanged.

      Re: SkyMax (Unlimited?)

How do I work out what I will end up with?

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16379 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 19 db 9 db
Noise Margin 10 db 12 db

      Cheers
