Hang on in there, you have good stats, DLM should do the job for you. If Sky interfere, by you asking them to, DLM will just reverse the changes anyway.

      Re: Normal training speed?

Thought I would post my final stats after DLM has completed:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8191 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 31.0 db 15.7 db
Noise Margin 18.8 db 12.0 db

Am I correct in thinking that I have enough noise margin to play with, to warrant an increase in download speed? Not too fussed as Im happy with the 7mb throughput Im getting, just curious

      Re: Normal training speed?

If your details say DLM has finished, phone Sky and ask them to manually configure your line. The very low speed you were quoted when signing up is likely to be a problem. Tier 1 cannot see much further than the end of their nose and are likely to quote this back at you when you ask for an increase. Many have been knocked back with this. Phone after 10.30 tonight, jump through the hoops for Tier 1 and hope you get an agent that has some sense and passes you to CST who will fix you in minutes. In any event try to get a ticket number as this will save problems when or if you have to phone back.

      Re: Normal training speed?

For anyone whose interested, these are my stats since the weekend:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13311 kbps 838 kbps
Line Attenuation 31.5 db 15.9 db
Noise Margin 9.9 db 8.5 db

After bouncing around a few emails between myself and Sky bb support a month ago, I gave up as they made me jump through the usual hoops, which wasnt really addressing my issue, so I just left it.

I guess the above is a result of the move to Sky Unlimited?

If you can get to speak to Customer Solutions again (I know, not a pleasant experience getting past the Tier 1 script monkeys), and demand they place you on an uncapped profile

I.e. ask for a sync rate cap of 20M down and 1.3M up
Ask for a Target SNR of 6.0dB
And ask they lower your ID (Interleave Delay) as low as they can

Once they've done this you should see around 16 meg down and 1.25 up, anything less and they're still capping you.

I used to get 16.6m down and 1m up on a 34dB line via UKOnline so I know it's possible to get more on your (shorter) line just gotta get CST to do the right thing

There lowest NM limit is 6.9db so I doubt they would go below this.

I doubt if he will get that with those stats, you must have a VERY good line, remember all lines even the same length ones are not the same quality.

if DLM is still running, you can't demand anything - it has to complete...anyone telling you otherwise doesn't know/doesn't care about their job...it's all in the activation letter (assuming it was received)...

and delay won't go lower than 8, which DLM usually sets lines to as default now (occationally still 16)...and target SNR, 7 is the lowest Sky use...
