Please help - Slow speed on connect

Hi,

Please can anyone help and give me some advice. Getting about 1meg and 0.5 meg speeds at the moment on our connect package. We used to get around 2/3 meg but its so slow these days cant watch you tube, streaming tv, pages take ages to load.

We connect wirelessly, we have filters in all sockets, its a new house so no test socket. We have lived here for 10 months and have been with Sky all that time. We have no fax machines, alarm systems. Only one phone connected which is not digital.

Also for connect Sky only except Bt Test Result that is what to use as a connect Customer to see your IP Profile and Actual throughput if you do a Bt test copy and paste to a thread about connect that is where we can see the performance there is a lot about connect on different threads one is http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...owed-down.html last page copy the test and paste there. You should be getting a lot faster than 3mbs should be at least 6.5mbs

Are you getting the problem all the time or only between 5pm and midnight do you ever get around 6.5mbs because your Actual throughput 1825kbps is what at the moment you are getting sorry for sending you to that thread you can just copy and paste to your thread it is somewhere to keep information

No all the time steve, we are really fed up and are thinking of leaving Sky. Talk talk have advised us we should get upto 8 meg and will not throttle us or traffic shape. Sky have told us they can only put us on the connect package as other packages are not available.

I know what you mean Talk talk have LLU which is better than connect make sure it is LLU not a rebranded product I got Sky to reprofile my line my Downstream was originally 3500kbps then Bt RAMBo cut in and I was capped at 1500kbps I ask Sky if they would run a Bt test to show what speed I could get they ran a the test and was told I could get 4000kbps took along time now IP Profile 3500kbps some time drops to 3000kbps and after 72hrs goes back to 3500kbps between 5pm and midnight sometimes down to 800kbps then after midnight back to 3200kbps that is why I was asking if you had higher speeds. Line Attenuation of 23db is to die for you should achieve 7000kbps If you want to you could do a Bt speed test in the morning and then ring Sky they will ask you to do the Bt speed test having already done some Sky should be able solve your problems

Talktalk are lying if they have told you that they wont traffic shape you. I left them after they started throttling me very badly

Your connection looks excellent, can you please test your speed using a wired connection. This is to rule out wireless problems. Wireless is always likely to be slower than ethernet.
