      Sudden speed drop

For the past week or so, My internet speed has been reduced drastically, for seemingly no apparent reason at all.
At first, I thought it was a problem with the router, (sagem f@st) which has always had interference problems with neighboring access points. After trying every trick I know to try and fix the problem, (resetting router, changing channels etc) I had to conclude that this was not the case. While doing this, I found that it took the router took 15 to 30 minutes to re-connect with sky's servers.

Anyways, enough explaining and onto the results. The reason I included two desktop tests was because I always recieve complaints that my laptop slows down the desktop's connection speed, and after the meager first set of results, I thought it wouldn't hurt to test this theory.

Also, I have been using sky max for over a year now, and have had no such problems like this before.

      Re: Sudden speed drop

You need to log into your router and post the stats.

      Re: Sudden speed drop

You have some noise on the line somewhere, how are you connecting the router to the phoneline?

Do you have extensions? have you got filters in all of the ones being used?

Do you have a test socket, if so, post the router stats when connected directly to it. (see sig for details)

      Re: Sudden speed drop

As far as I am aware of, there is no noise on the line. The router is connected to the phoneline using the cable supplied by sky, connected int a two way filter (one for phone, another for the router), which is then plugged directly into the wall socket.
There are no extensions. I did not know about the test socket, so I will give that a go.
