      Bad sync speed after training

I recently switched to SKY broadband max after hearing it was the best package available......
The connection went live and i was getting something like 5500kbps down speed and 750kbps up speed. I was very happy with this, although it occationly dropped(about once a day?) and about 20 seconds later it connected again at the same speed.
Then about a week ago, my connection was really slow, i checked and the DSL connection and it was now reading:
      Downstream Rate: 2044 Kbps
      Upstream Rate: 252 Kbps

I have been on broadband for around 6 years and never had a connection with slow.
The ping is too high, and as a gamer this isnt acceptable as i can no longer play online.

I called the tech support today and after over an hour on the phone, they said there is nothing they can do as the tests say my line can only support what it is currently at.

does anyone have any suggestions what i can do now?
If i cant get a better connection with sky, i want to cancel.

      Thanks

Details taken from test socket on my linksys router.
      DSL Modulation Mode: ADSL2+
      DSL Path Mode: INTERLEAVED
      Downstream Rate: 2044 Kbps
      Upstream Rate: 252 Kbps
      Downstream Margin: 22 db
      Upstream Margin: 29 db
      Downstream Line Attenuation: 44
      Upstream Line Attenuation: 27

It looks like you are heavily capped.

The problem may be a fault on the line which is causing the line to drop, DLM may have seen this error and reduced the speed until it is more stable. You should really try to sort this out.

Ring Sky again, you need to be put through to CST, you may have to go through the forst line support again for slow speeds but you MUST get to CST as they are the only ones who will be able to do anything.

If you ring after 10:30pm you have a better chance of getting CST directly.

You will need to put the Sky router on to do this, you should not be using anything else.

Post the stats from the Sky router when you have plugged it in, I am more used to reading them.

Re: Bad sync speed after training

thanks for the reply, connected my sky router and the details are as follows:
      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023o.d20h
      Modem Status Up
      DownStream Connection Speed 2043
      UpStream Connection Speed 248
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

excuse my ignorance, whats a CST? Is there a way of asking to get put through to them?
What sort of things do you think they could do to fix the problem?

If DLM isn't running they should just in crease the connect speed back up to what i was before.
