I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
I'm not really sure what the problem is. I'm supposed to be getting 3-4 mbps but instead I'm getting about 1.7. I have my sky sagem router plugged into an NTE5.
Here are my router statistics:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 54.5 db 30.7 db
Noise Margin 8.1 db 19.5 db

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
Are you sure you're not on base.
If not you may be capped at 2mb your connection may get a little more but not much according to those stats.

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
No I'm definitely on the sky mid package. What does it mean and what can I do if my connection has been capped?

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
I think 412kbps is a sign of DLM?

The 1.7 matches what you should be seeing with that router sync.
It maybe just a case of waiting for DLM to do its magic before it goes back up.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Plug the router into the test socket and get the stats again. (see sig below for details)

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
To me it definitely looks like you are on DLM.
Try the test socket and post the stats, it maybe just a case of ringing Sky and asking them to remove the artificial cap so to speak.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
OK,here are my results from the test socket. There is very little difference:
Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2041 kbps 409 kbps
Line Attenuation 54.5 db 30.7 db
Noise Margin 8.3 db 20.0 db

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
You could try ringing Sky and ask them to disable the DLM and see if the speed goes up.
After 10:30pm is ideal~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Re: I'm not getting the speeds I expect.
I don't think it is DLM, 412dbs is the signature for ADSL2+. With such a high attenuation it may be better on G.DMT.
As the result in the test socket is worse, the plug may not be making a good connection. Work it in and out a few times and give it a small squirt of WD40 if you have any. Do you have any extensions? If so are they dead when the Master faceplate is removed?
