      - & i thought this thread could become something like a hub of related information to the troubles i am experiencing & the available avenues of causes & remedies -

      - i haven't yet phoned Sky again... - so consequently there is no change with my - 'speed' - but i will get on it - & report back -

      - thanks for All the Help so far... -

      Re: - QuestionAble Speed - (?)

      - another thing though... -

      - all the Telephone Sockets in this House are Old & Out-Dated... - the Wiring in the sockets looks a mess - & i'm someone that likes things to run as efficient & smooth as possible - & so i am thinking of Replacing them with Current Technologies -

      - Out Phone Line Rental is With - 'Southern Electric'... - should we be contacting them to UpDate our equipment - or contacting an Independent Phone engineer - (?)

      - Our Phone line is Always of poor quality... - it's seemingly harder to hear what the other person is saying down the phone than what it should be -

      - i'm not sure i trust myself to start tinkering with all this - i'm learning more about it all for sure - but i can't say that i have developed an Expertise... - Not Just Yet -

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 379 kbps 796 kbps

      Re: - QuestionAble Speed - (?)

You still have a problem, your noise margin has become lower which is worse, you have dropped from 27 to 14, that's a lot.

You really need to remove the extension sockets from the master and then try again.

If that doesn't work then you will need to report a line fault to whoever you pay your line rental to, do not mention broadband problems, just poor voice calls etc, when the engineer comes you can tell him about your poor broadband speeds aswell as you poor line.

It's not really worth ringing Sky until you line is more stable.

Are you plugged into the same socket you were in your post~ 21? If so it is difficult to understand how your Noise Margin has dropped so much.
