      - i seem to be able to Load Web Pages reasonably well - though i have no comparison - it's just when i'm Downloading from places such as - 'BBC i-Player' - it's Taking Hours or Days to Download a Hours Long Programme -

      - MASSIVELY Frustrating -

      - With the Upstream connection being of quite good quality but yet the Downsteam being very poor... - Would this be in some indicative that the Problem is Founded within the Sky Set-Up as opposed to being a problem somewhere with my phone line - (?)

Not at all but it shows that your internal wiring may not be helping. You need to do as suggested and remove all wires not needed on those sockets and then see if the noise margin improves again. The only way of getting your speed to what it should be is to make sure your internal wiring is as good as can be and then look to Tier 1 to TS you for slow speed so that CST can reset your config.

      - so just to be clear... - disconnect ALL wires to ALL Terminals in Both of the Unused Sockets... - & Only Leave the Wires Connected to Terminals 2 & 5 in the Master Socket - (?)

TS are the first line support and deal with the day to day things, they pass any calls that need alterations to the setup across to CST who are able to make them directly on your line/setup.

As for your phone sockets, is you only need the master socket to work yoiu should only leave the incomming line connected to it, all the ones that got from the master to the extension sockets can be removed from the master.

If you ever need to use one of the extension sockets then you should buy a new NTE5 master socket and fit a filtered faceplate to it, that way you can be sure that all of your internal wiring is not affecting your ADSL connection.

Sorry I didn;t respond regarding this earlier, I was hoping Brian would jump in, it's easy when you have the sockets in your hand but explaining it is a little more complicated.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 379 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 42 db 26 db
Noise Margin 27 db 12 db

The bold figures indicate that you connection is capped. The only way to get this fixed is to leave the router plug into where you got these figures, phone Sky and tell them you have improved your wiring and want your speed increased. You should get a speed around 7-9Mbs. There is no other way you will get an improvement.

I would not advise disconnecting any more wires than you have at the moment, unless you are certain you will have no further need for the extensions.
