      Hi, I think it must have been an exchange problem because when I tested it again today the speed was up to between 1.2 and 1.5 MB/s.
      I should have guessed it might be something like that as my parents lost their phone line for 2 days after the broadband was switched on.
      Thanks for your attention, now I'm just envious of my parent's speed ( which they don't need !! )

      Do they have a spare bedroom?

      Setup a PC in a spare room and use remote desktop for all your downloading needs
