Speed drops by 50% in 2 days ?
Hi,
I got my broadband (max) a couple of days back, and was happy initially when I got 14000+ kbps ...
Today evening, I noticed that my connection has dropped to 7611 kbps. I tried reconnecting it a couple of times, but it doesn't seem to improve at all.
I cant understand what went wrong in 2 days. I didn't change anything ! It just dropped by around 50 %.
Can some one explain what might have caused this ? and how I can get things back up again.
I have sent Sky a message, and waiting to hear from them too.
Thanks,
Vinay

3 letters...
DLM
read your welcome letter and you'll see the paragraph at the end telling you this will happen...if, after you first 10 days of connection, it's still low then call Sky and they'll adjust it manually...-------------------------------------------

Yup I've had the exact same thing.
Ringing sky hasn't been as frustrating as I feared, although to get to CST is a pain in the (backside)
Conveniently, my phone cut off. d'oh

To the OP
Wait until after the 10 days is up.
Get an XTE2005 ADSL Nation faceplate
Make sure router is on master outlet, disconnect all others if possible.
Ring Sky, and make sure you can get escalated to CST, bit of a wait on hold involved, but it is *so worth it*

If you could post your stats on the forums it may be helpful to see what sort of speed you possibly could expect from your line. Do the test from the Test socket, instructions here:
