AH HA!! Success. After spending 68!!!!!! yes 68! minutes on hold i got through to the customer support team, who very quickly did a line test, confirmed everything you said and have put the request in to reset my IP Profile. They will phone me back in three days to confirm that it has worked. Thanks again mate for your help, without it i would of had no clue what to ask/look for. and now i have information to fix this in the future. I hope this helps others out on here. Cos it really helped me.

lol if it works of course. I'll post back in three days with the result.

      Out of interest.

Resetting the IP Profile is basically restarting the initial 10 day warm up period. But because i have already done that, future resets only take three days. I know you already know this but if anyone else reads this then it might help them.

Also, if you are on Connect, how long have you been connected (as a customer)? If it's less than 10 days then you'll still be in "training" and speeds may well be low.

hi i have been told the same dont have same problem but have been whith sky a few years and last month my speed was down to under 1 meg ...and i norm get
between 4&5 they reset my bt profile and 5 mins later back to high speed ...then again the month it has happend again ...so they have reset again ..but have been told the same ..can take 10 days ..and it is again back to under 1 meg ...and to think we pay 17 pound for this not on ...as far as i know bt is up for whole sale in march
but wether they buy it or not we will have to wait and see if we get ..it for 5 pound
and the router i use is a belkin as have had 3 skybox router all crashed ..so flashed the last 1 for the password and username now can use any router
......so can you tell me how i can see my bt profile cheers

      go to speedteser.bt.com
      put your phone number in
when it ask for you username it's the MAC on the bottom of the router followed by @skydsl - e.g. 0022B5D42480@skydsl
      post the results...

See post #12 in this thread.

If your profile keeps being reset to 1meg, that indicates you have a line noise problem and the BT RAMBo system is reacting to it.
