Should I be getting better speedtest results?
Hi - new to Sky, speedtests showing download rate of 1986 - on Connect Package. Previous ISP I could expect a rate over 4000 - here are my stats
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6912 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.0 db 24.0 db
Noise Margin 6.5 db 21.0 db
The line has been stable since I last set the router 3 days ago.
Thanks for your advice.

With your sync speed you should be able to achieve 4 to 5 meg, your not on wireless are you ? If not try a different tester / time for the test - they can be notoriously inaccurate.
Ps - how new to connect are you as there is a 10 day training period where things can slew up and down considerably.

If you are in the 10 day training period leave the router connnected to the mastersocket for the 10 days and it should stabalize its self.

Re: Should I be getting better speedtest results?
Thanks for your help.
In the end I contacted Sky by email.
Tech support called me later the next to let me know that the problem was with BT, they had put me on a 2 meg connection instead of the upto 8 meg. (I'm on connect).
Anyway, speedtest results now:-
Your download speed is 5456Kbps. That is 1243Kbps above the average for Sky
I'm a happy boy
